Overview
Jack has maintained a log of “stupid experiments” — technical tests, curiosity-driven builds, and hands-on explorations — going back to 2021. The Notion Experiment Log notebook collects 8+ experiments across unicode, encryption, music generation, hardware, and more.
The Experiments
Unicode Character Testing (Sep 2021)
Three sequential experiments exploring the limits of Unicode character rendering: - Initial Experiment — first test of unicode edge cases - Experiment 2 — follow-up with different character sets - Experiment 3 — extended character range testing
Date: September 9–12, 2021. These are among Jack’s earliest documented technical explorations in Notion — freshman-year curiosity about how systems handle unusual text input.
Encryption Experiment and Security Testing (Sep 2021)
Hands-on security testing around encryption methods. Date: September 25, 2021. Rated Bib Gourmand (worthwhile, not exceptional). Part of the same early Notion period as the unicode experiments — a pattern of testing boundaries and edge cases.
EUC Experience (Jul 2022)
Jack’s first documented Electric Unicycle (EUC) experience — July 2022, shortly before he would go on to ride 2,500+ miles on one. This is the origin entry for what became one of his defining physical hobbies.
Music Composition: Jakku Song (Suno Experiment) (Aug 2024)
Using Suno AI to generate a song called the “Jakku Song” — an AI music composition experiment during the summer 2024 period (concurrent with the Mira team syncs). Jakku is the name Jack goes by in Japanese contexts (ジャック → Jakku). The experiment lives in Notion alongside the Mira project materials.
Dream-Inspired Video Game Concept (Oct 2025)
A dream journal entry that became a video game idea: a hotel room escape game with relationship themes and a narrator mechanic. Tagged “Creative” and “Personal.” Draft status as of late 2025.
The Experiment Mindset
The experiment log captures something consistent across Jack’s timeline: he tests things not because they’re practical but because he wants to know what happens. Unicode edge cases at 3am. AI music generation. Encryption explorations. The EUC before he knew he’d become obsessed with it.
